Contemporary, but family friendly.
That was where this design started. We were tasked with creating a beautiful luxury home that could host dinner parties with business associates, but could also be a home for a young growing family with kids and dogs!
When we first visited the site we connected to all of the mature trees and beautiful south east exposure for sun rises and we were inspired to create a custom family home with amazing natural light. A key design element was the 20’ window wall that would centre between existing trees and flood the home with natural light.
We then envisioned family and friends coming home into either a large custom mud room off the garage, or through the open and airy front entry to a custom bench to collect the jackets and back packs. We created a large open main floor plan that would allow for kids and dogs to run and play while always being in site. 2 separate vaulted ceiling spaces were designed to create definition of the spaces and allow for intimate dining or cozy relaxing by the fireplace.
A large and full room built in pantry was tucked away beside the double island gourmet kitchen to give a hideaway to the mess and clutter while having a large gathering. Finally a custom office at the end of the hall rounded out every desire that this family had for their forever home.
The finished product is a beautiful family home nestled in on a mature building site that will be the space for amazing memories to be created. Their is nothing more satisfying then being a part of the creation to a loving family home!
